Employer's Job Description

The Scrum Master will lead high performing Agile delivery teams on a variety of software development projects. You will be an ambassador of the Scrum process and create extraordinary team outcomes.

Long term contract, 10+ months

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective team meetings: ceremonies, backlog refinement, stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, team communications, demos and decision making
  • Work with the Product Owner(s) and the project team to develop and manage a Product Backlog
  • Liaise between the stakeholders and the project team to ensure user stories/acceptance criteria is clearly defined and understood
  • Uncover and remove team impediments that prevent the team from achieving their shared goal
  • Help teams understand root cause of impediments and get past the symptoms
  • Manage product scope and control scope creep during the development sprints
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example

Skills/Experience you should have:

  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Ability to work with and lead a team
  • Collaborative work experience with cross-functional teams to affect resolution of issues and community building across multiple functions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and mentoring skills
  • Outstanding time management skills and attention to details
  • Ability to triage scrum team issues based on priority, impact, risk, release timing.
  • Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
  • Experience with successful Agile techniques
  • Scrum Master certification, first level (CSM, PSM I) required. Second level (CSP, PSM II) preferred
