Job Description

As the College works towards improving its use of nearly 30 different systems and databases and expanding its use of Salesforce across the institution, the Senior Developer will play a critical role in leading the ongoing effort to improve the availability of data, streamline business processes across multiple departments, and enhance the effectiveness of the College’s enterprise applications.

Ensures the efficient and sustainable operation and integration of enterprise applications by:

Performing database programming for new and existing systems;
Writing scripts, stored procedures and functions for database systems and integrations;
Assisting in planning and implementing the data integration and data migration activities using native and custom APIs;
Coordinating with team members to perform database programming based on project requirements;
Providing valid inputs in database architectural discussions;
Assisting in identifying process improvements for database performance, reliability and stability;
Interacting with business teams to understand project requirements;
Maintaining accurate and complete database programming documentations

Provides database administration duties and back-up administration duties for a subset of systems by:

Providing user and permission setups;
Troubleshoot complex database issues in a timely fashion;
Test database systems and perform bug fixes;
Perform quality assurance tests for ensuring data integrity and quality;
Working closely with vendors to ensure timely and accurate system updates, patches, and builds

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of enterprise applications databases including Student Information Systems, accounting systems, CRM, and others
Knowledge of College business processes
SQL, T-SQL Stored Procedure Programming using SQL Server Management Studio
Java Programming using Servlet API and JDBC
Java REST API programming using Apache Http Components
Salesforce Apex programming and understanding of the Salesforce REST API
Basics knowledge of Windows batch script and Task Scheduler
Crystal Reports
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript
Tomcat configuration and administration
Collaborative work style
Critical thinker
Sense of humor
Tolerates work related stress effectively and maintains self-control/professionalism.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent with 10+ years relevant work experience.
