Job Description

IT Help Desk Specialist- Lewiston

Full Time (40 hours)

At the crossroads of technology and relationships sits the Help Desk.

Androscoggin Bank has a rare opening on our IT team, providing first tier individualized support to employees across the Bank. We are looking for a connector, a friendly person who enjoys talking with everyone from brand new employees logging in on their first day, to an executive seeking help with a thorny tech problem.

Working as our Help Desk Specialist, you’d start the day early, coming in at 6:30 AM to do a systems check to make sure the bank is ready to begin helping clients. The first hour or so is quiet, running reports and clearing up any problems. As the Bank comes to life, you’d answer the Help line and work with our 180 employees, resolving questions about hardware, software, and networking, including our internal network and our core banking system (FISERV). You’d install and upgrade software, install hardware, and configure systems and applications.

You’d also track incoming electronic tickets for the department – prioritizing, scheduling resolution, and/or escalating them to the appropriate technician. There’s so much more for you, too.  As our Help Desk Specialist you’d also track statistics, and inventory management, and report on the IT Department’s metrics. Plenty of team and project work, both major and minor.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree, or 6-12 months related experience and/or training. Knowledge of bank processes, bank software and systems, and FISERV.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively at the technical and non-technical level, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer operating systems and network servers, system back-up and security techniques and network architecture.   
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and database management software.

Other Details You Probably Want To Know:

This is a 40 hour a week, full time position, normally scheduled 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday. It also requires being on-call rotating Saturday mornings from 8-1. The position is located in our operations center in Lewiston, where something is nearly always going on.
