This session, presented by James Beswick, explores how you can decouple monolithic applications into microservices using an event bus. This can help reduce code, minimize dependencies, and make it easier to build extensible applications.

Amazon EventBridge is a serverless event bus that can filter and route events with no infrastructure needed. James will show how you can use this to build robust, scalable patterns in your workloads. From a scalable webhook using API Gateway to an event-emitting workflow with Step Functions, he'll show the code you need to get started using this powerful approach quickly.

James Beswick is a Senior Developer Advocate for the AWS Serverless Team and helps customers learn the benefits of using serverless technology. He has previously worked as a Software Developer and Product Manager at enterprises and startups. James has used AWS services for nearly 10 years and helped multiple start-ups build their applications on serverless architecture. Follow him on Twitter: @jbesw .
